Welcome to DayBreak

DayBreak is a beautiful community located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains of central Virginia that caters to seniors with various degrees of memory impairment.

Our 32-unit, 60-bed fully secured community was specifically designed with our residents' needs in mind. The unique building features self-contained neighborhoods, each with a living room, dining room, outside courtyard, and exploring paths. Each member of our professional staff is trained in the delivery of our DayBreak programming, which we developed to meet the needs of memory impaired residents.

We recognize each resident's need for daily therapeutic programming that makes the most of retained skills and abilities while recognizing each resident's individual level of appropriate social stimulation. In addition to integrating activities of daily living into our DayBreak programming, we emphasize the value of human relationships with attention to personal friendships and family interactions.

Our Care Coordinator will coordinate your loved one's needs through an interdisciplinary team approach. We communicate regularly with families and health care professionals so we can make sure that your loves one's needs are met. We encourage families to visit often and to participate in the activities and special events. Many families discover that without the responsibility of personal care giving that they can truly relax and enjoy the time they spend with their loved ones.

We incorporate clinical, personal and social needs in a supportive individualized approach as well as an interactive environment. Some elements include sensory activities, validation therapy, reminiscence techniques, physical exercises that promote gross motor skills and fine motor skills, social interaction and appropriate engagement through group dining.
